Latest DeVonta Smith Injury Update is Bad News for Eagles Fans
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. They have won seven straight games and sit with a 9-2 record. Last week, they went on the road to play against the Los Angeles Rams.
In Week 13, the Eagles travel to play the Baltimore Ravens in a contest between two teams with Super Bowl hopes. While they are preparing for this matchup, the Eagles didn't get good injury news around WR DeVonta Smith.
Eagles News: DeVonta Smith Didn’t Practice on Wednesday
According to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic, Smith (hamstring) was seen at Wednesday's practice in sweats.
Smith has been dealing with a hamstring injury for a couple of weeks. Before the game against the Rams, the Alabama product was a limited participant but ended up being inactive. Earlier this season, Smith also missed time with a concussion.
Hamstring injuries are tricky and can take time before they are fully healthy. Thursday and Friday's injury reports will give a better indication of Smith's status on Sunday. This season, he has 41 receptions for 516 yards and four touchdowns.
Thankfully, the Eagles offense is stacked and can weather the storm if Smith can't give it a go. Saquon Barkley is playing at an MVP level and is coming off a franchise-record 255 rushing yards. In the aerial attack, A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert are two other reliable weapons.
This matchup against the Ravens won't be an easy contest with a dynamic duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry on the other side.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Baltimore has opened up as three-point favorites over Philadelphia.
