The Philadelphia Eagles have a prime opportunity to win the NFC East title in Week 16, all they have to do is defeat the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The last time these two teams played each other, the Eagles won 26-18 in Week 11 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles hope to have a healthy team for Sunday’s divisional clash against Washington after going through a hard-hitting and physical game last week vs. the Steelers. On Wednesday, the Eagles got great news about a key member of their offensive line.

On Thursday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reported that starting left guard Landon Dickerson was back at practice. The Eagles beat writer adds Dickerson went through warmups and participated in offensive line drills.

Eagles News: Landon Dickerson Returns to Practice

Dickerson was listed as a DNP on Wednesday’s injury report with a knee injury. The 26-year-old lineman sustained a knee injury in last week’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The former second-round pick played 31 snaps before being replaced by second-year lineman Tyler Steen.

This is a good sign for Philadelphia as they need Dickerson to help keep Jalen Hurts clean in the pocket and open running lanes for Saquon Barkley. The former Alabama offensive lineman has been one of the better guards in the NFL this season.

According to PFF, Dickerson has a 72.6 pass blocking grade, which is good for 23rd out of 128 qualified guards. He also possess an excellent run-blocking grade at 79.0 (13th out of 128 guards).

In the first meeting between these two rivals, Hurts was only sacked twice. Meanwhile, Barkley went off for 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Dickerson didn't allow a sack, hit, or hurry in 63 snaps. He also boasted a pristine 90 run-block grade and 81.7 pass-blocking grade.

The Commanders’ defense has 35 sacks on the season but is ranked sixth in the league in blitzes per dropback at 29.6 percent. Therefore, it will be imperative for the Eagles to have a healthy offensive line for Sunday.

We will await the team’s updated injury report on Thursday to get an official designation on Dickerson and the other injured Eagles.
