Kevin Patullo Firing More Obvious Than Ever After Thursday Night Football

The Lions' offensive success against the Cowboys should have Eagles fans furious.

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to see the Kevin Patullo hiring pay no dividends during the 2025 season, even when the Birds aren't playing. On Thursday Night Football, during a 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. was tormented in the secondary early and often.

Revel, who was predicted by some to have the equivalent of a "redshirt year," is getting thrown into the fire. Against the Lions, he was burned on what seemed like almost every snap he was on the field for. Jameson Williams looked like he did playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide against the New Mexico State Aggies, or for the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, when facing Revel's coverage.

It was a tough look for a guy who had given up five receptions for 61 yards across 89 coverage snaps against the Las Vegas Raiders, Eagles, and Kansas City Chiefs.

You know what company Patullo shouldn't want to be in for not making Revel struggle the way Dan Campbell made him? The Chiefs' offensive coordinator, Matt Nagy, and former Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

Take a hint, Howie Roseman.

Eagles Offense Has Suffered, Perhaps Irreparably, Under Kevin Patullo

When you have skill position threats like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith unhappy with the offense and telling their fans that they shouldn't expect them to put up big fantasy football numbers, you have a deep problem that goes down to the core of this offense.

Jalen Hurts has become one-dimensional, and while Saquon Barkley has covered that up to a degree in recent weeks, albeit after a slow start himself, there have been too many examples of this offense regressing. Philadelphia would've made a move had the team not kept winning. The Eagles, being a game out of first place in the NFC, can't even keep frustrations down in the City of Brotherly Love about a unit that has the potential to be the league's most devastating but looks disjointed.

Nick Sirianni doesn't have an easy job by any stretch. He's brought the franchise massive success, but he bungled the offensive coordinator hiring following Kellen Moore's departure to become the New Orleans Saints' head coach.

How he handles what comes next, whether it be trusting Patullo, taking play-calling duties from him, or simply removing him from the coaching staff, will go a long way in determining whether the Eagles are done contending for championships in their current form.
