The Philadelphia Eagles received huge news earlier this week on Jalen Carter, who will not be suspended after being ejected from last week’s primetime game for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Instead, he’ll be fined $57,222 for his actions.

After last week’s game, Carter took responsibility for his behavior and promised that it would not happen again. It seems like the third-year defensive lineman has moved past the Week 1 drama and is already making amends for what happened.

According to Devan Kaney of 94WIP, Jordan Davis told reporters that Carter apologized to the defensive line. Davis also said that Carter had a great practice on Wednesday and added, “he’s going to be out there being the same Jalen Carter… He’s a disruptive player,” per Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP.

Jalen Carter Is Already Turning Page After Week 1 Ejection

If you are the Eagles, it's good to see Carter taking the necessary steps with his teammates and showing it with his actions.

It’s something defensive coordinator Vic Fangio highlighted when talking about being a leader on Tuesday. The veteran defensive coordinator said to reporters, “To be considered a leader, actions speak louder than words. And (Carter) has to speak with his actions.”

Now the Eagles need to see the third-year defensive lineman continue that heading into this weekend’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Philly was able to get by without Carter in Week 1, despite the Cowboys rushing for 119 yards.

However, that won’t be the case against the Chiefs, who are looking to bounce back after losing in Week 1. The Eagles will need Carter to be focused and be the disruptive player in the middle of the interior defensive line.

Throughout the regular season and the playoffs, we saw the attention Carter commanded from opposing teams because of his ability to be a game wrecker with his play.

We saw what Carter and this Eagles’ defensive line was able to do against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl 59. They made it difficult and uncomfortable for Patrick Mahomes in the pocket.

That said, we shouldn’t expect a similar performance, as the Chiefs’ offensive line and the Eagles’ defensive line are completely different. However, Carter can play a big role in how Sunday’s game is decided in Arrowhead. He’s important to the success of this defense, and everyone knows it.
