The Philadelphia Eagles have finalized their 53-man roster but anyone surviving the cuts may only be able to take a quick sigh of relief. While teams have cut their rosters down from 90 players, the real fun begins for general managers that now have a ton of players available to them that were not available 24 hours ago.

It could bring Eagles fans and players on the back end of the roster on a wild ride in the next 24 hours and general manager Howie Roseman may have admitted he has a move or two up his sleeve.

Eagles Could Have More Moves on Deck After Cutdown Deadline

Roseman addressed reporters after the deadline and admitted he may not be done shaping the 53-man roster for the upcoming season. While he discussed the players that were currently on the roster, he boldly declared there was more work to be done.

“I would say this: We’re not done here,” Roseman said via Zach Berman of The Athletic. “We’ll see what happens in the next 24 hours. We got a lot of picks here, and we’re happy to use those picks in the draft. But I think for us, the early part of the season, September, we gotta see what we have. If we need something, I’ll do whatever I can to help this football team and be aggressive.”

If the Eagles need to make a move, they have the means to do so. Philadelphia made three trades on Sunday afternoon, acquiring quarterback Sam Howel and offensive tackle Fred Johnson and sending out fellow offensive tackle Darian Kennard. Philadelphia also has nine picks in the 2025 NFL Draft that could be used to fill any voids remaining on the 53-man roster.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there are some spots where Roseman could make a move. Offensive line depth is still a concern after the team threw in the towel on offseason trade acquisition Kenyon Green and they could also use some receiver depth behind A.J. Green and Devonta Smith. The secondary and linebacker groups could also use an extra player or too and Roseman hasn’t been afraid to make a deal after the horn has sounded.

Roseman made a surprising move in 2016 when he traded Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2017 first-round pick. That trade allowed Carson Wentz to start in his rookie season and add Derek Barnett with that selection, who became a seven-year veteran in Philadelphia and came up with a key strip/sack against the Vikings in the 2017 NFC Championship Game.

The Eagles also made another move right before the season last year when they acquired Jahan Dotson in a trade with the Washington Commanders. While Dotson hasn’t panned out, Roseman has shown a knack for sneaking one more trade in before the season begins and it could convince Eagles fans to grab their popcorn in the next day or so.
