The Philadelphia Eagles are the cream of the crop in the NFL after their dominant Super Bowl run this past season, bringing the franchise its second championship since 2018.

Whenever a team with as passionate fans as there are in Philadelphia enjoys success, it is going to be met with criticism from those who were unable to get the best of them along the way. That happened this past season when Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse made it clear that he hated Eagles fans before the two sides met during the 2024 NFL playoffs, a matchup which Philadelphia won by dominating the fourth quarter.

Now, Verse is still talking about Eagles fans, but he has changed his tone from what we saw this past winter.

Eagles Rival Jared Verse Gives Philly Shocking Praise in Latest Remarks

With Verse having had several months to stew over the loss handed to his team by Philadelphia in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, he remains steadfast in his hatred for Eagles supporters. However, he also gave the fan base its flowers during a recent interview with Whistle Sports.

“Playing the Eagles is like playing your rival in college because you never know what they’re going to say, and they’re going to try to say disrespectful stuff,” Verse said, via NBC Sports. “They’re going to bring something up. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not going to say anything where it’s like, ‘Bro, you crossed a line,’ but they’re going to say something where you’re like, ‘Hey, who you talking to?’”

This level of respect is a long way from the hatred Verse described this past season. Eagles fans should take pride in these comments. The goal of any good fan base should be to get under the skin of opposing players and coaches while not crossing that line. This is an art that has been mastered in the City of Brotherly Love.
