Giants Stud Looks Like He Won't Be the Eagles' Concern for Much Longer

New York Giants cornerback Cor'Dale Flott probably won't be terrorizing Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and his WR room any longer after the offseason is through. The impending free agent recently made it clear that he's likely moving on from Big Blue.

Flott recently switched agents from Marlon Moore of AthElite Agency to Brian Murphy's Athletes First, which is typically the tell-tale sign that a player is about to ask for a major pay raise. New York is trying to re-sign slot extraordinairre Wan'Dale Robinson, so the likelihood of re-investing so heavily into a roster that fell well short of the postseason is slim to none.

Robinson could be in line for an extension with an average annual value between $16 million and $20 million. Jaxson Dart needs his weapons, and the Giants are clearly invested in him as their franchise player after hiring QB-focused head coach John Harbaugh and actually letting him fully run the show.

Flott's projected $10 million salary may not fit into the picture. The former third-round pick from LSU, out of Saraland, Alabama, is more replaceable than anyone who showed any potential playing with Dart.

No one will be more excited to see Flott go than the Birds' fanbase.

Cor'Dale Flott Helped Seal Giants' Win Over Eagles in Week 6

Flott will go down in history for his 68-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter against the Eagles in Week 6, which sealed the 34-17 Giants win at MetLife Stadium. That loss sounded the alarm for many about Kevin Patullo's offense. It's also one that might not have been a loss had Flott not taken over Deonte Banks.

Flott parlayed that performance into a solid season with Big Blue, though his injury-proneness prevented New York from getting a full look at what he can do. Still, he showed enough to make it a tough loss for the Giants. When targeted, he allowed a passer rating of 73.3 in coverage. Flott also only gave up one touchdown all year.

New York has to prepare to lose him, due to Flott's recent agent switch and the fact that several teams with cap space need a shutdown corner and/or a nickel. The New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens stand out as potential landing spots, but more will emerge as the NFL's salary cap will pass $300 million this offseason.

Since no NFC East teams are strongly rumored to be in the running for Flott, Philly may soon escape his big-play sensibilities and pass-deflecting length once and for all.
