The Philadelphia Eagles have incredible depth at receiver with their stars locked up and Jahan Dotson showing signs of coming to life. It is fun to imagine what this offense might be capable of accomplishing if Dotson can turn back the clock to the player he was prior to joining the Eagles. Dotson isn't the only depth piece with Philly ties catching attention this offseason, with Olamide Zaccheaus enjoying a huge camp performance.
Zaccheaus spent last season with the Washington Commanders and helped fuel Jayden Daniels' breakout campaign. The receiver has wasted no time attempting to fill such a role for his new quarterback, Caleb Williams. Two seasons before this, the veteran had a solid season in Philly, helping Jalen Hurts continue to develop as a passer as a secondary option. Behind D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze, this is the exact spot the veteran again finds himself in.
It isn't just a handful of nice plays from the veterans in Chicago's camp, but a history of consistently making plays and showing he can be relied on. Bears fans can only hope Zaccheaus can prove to be as impactful as he was for Daniels and Hurts in his new role. Williams is under incredible pressure after a quick offseason shuffle that saw former Detroit Lions OC Ben Johnson take over as the head coach.

Former Eagles WR Olamide Zaccheaus Enjoying Career Best Camp Performance
The veteran only had 164 yards working with Jalen Hurts, but was in a depth role and made a handful of huge plays. What the receiver accomplished in Philly goes deeper than the numbers when you look back at his role and the targets ahead of him. Zaccheaus helped Hurts learn to trust others outside of the primary options, even with the limited production.
Production that took a huge leap in the 2024 season, with the pass catcher finishing the year with 506 yards and a number of highlight moments. This is the receiver at his absolute best, and who the Bears hope shows up in Week 1 and isn't simply a camp outlier.
For the Eagles, moving on was still the right decision considering the depth of talent. It is already an uphill battle to get everyone in a star-studded offense enough touches. The pass catcher would continue to play the same role he did in his lone season in Philly. As an important piece that is only going to be relied on in a few select moments. No question, both the Eagles and Bears made the right decisions when it comes to the receiver's future.
