Philadelphia Eagles fans have plenty to keep track of as the defending Super Bowl champions continue their preparations for the 2025 season.

While the players currently on the Eagles' roster battle it out for their respective jobs during training camp, players who used to call Philadelphia home are doing the same throughout the NFL. One member of the Eagles from 2023-2024 is among those looking for a new home within the league, and, fortunately for him, another door has opened almost as quickly as one was closed on him.

Ex-Eagles TE Albert Okwuegbunam Scooped Up Quickly After Release

Just days after being released by the Indianapolis Colts, veteran tight end Albert Okwuegbunam has landed a new job in the AFC West with the Las Vegas Raiders. The team announced the signing on Sunday afternoon once the news was official.

A 2022 fourth-round pick by the Denver Broncos out of the University of Missouri, Okwuegbunam spent the first three seasons of his career in the Mile High City and performed admirably as a reserve tight end. In 26 appearances for Denver, including seven starts, Okwuegbunam caught 54 of his 74 targets for 546 yards and four touchdowns.

That production led to the Eagles making a move to trade for him before the 2023 season, as he was sent to Philadelphia along with a 2025 seventh-round pick in exchange for the Eagles' 2025 sixth-round pick.

The tight end was nowhere near as effective in the City of Brotherly Love, though. In four total appearances, he was targeted once and failed to reel in the reception. Ultimately, an injury led to his release from the team in November 2024.

Now, the former Missouri Tigers standout will look to get his career back on track as a member of the Raiders. We'll find out soon enough whether he is successful in that endeavor or if it is back to the drawing board for the former Eagles tight end.
