The Philadelphia Eagles have few free agents of note remaining, with the most notable being former starting corner Adoree' Jackson. It was clear the franchise was ready to turn the page and had restocked the position with Riq Woolen and Jonathan Jones, both brought in as notable additions. This, along with recent struggles from Jackson, has made it clear that a reunion isn't happening for a team that has already turned the page.
Jackson played 588 snaps in the 2025 season and had an interception to go along with six passes broken up. However, this is where the good news ended, with the defender giving up a passer rating of 89.3 when targeted and missing an alarming 12 tackles. Add in the fact that PFF's overall grade (54.6) had Jackson ranked 89th out of 114 qualifiers, and the reasons why the defender is having a difficult time finding his next landing spot are clear.
While this isn't to suggest that it is the end of Jackson's career, it wouldn't be surprising to see his free agency drag into the summer. This is especially true on the heels of the draft when teams are far more interested in their new draft class and what value they might find in undrafted signings.
All of this adds up to Philly being proven right for turning the page from a defender who simply wasn't able to play at a consistent level. While there were flashes of capability, these were overshadowed by busts in coverage and missed tackles.
Former Eagles Corner Adoree' Jackson Continues Free Agency Search
The likely path forward is going to be Jackson realizing his lack of options and taking a deal without any guarantees to attempt to provide veteran depth. Barring a team dealing with a truly unfortunate string of injuries, it is impossible to see a team handing the veteran a starting role.
It simply has been far too long since Jackson was a viable starting option to believe that a team will take this level of risk. This is evidenced by the fact that the defensive back remains in free agency this late into the offseason. Even with upcoming draft fallout moves, there isn't a likely path to the defender being handed a contract of note.
There are far more proven options at corner remaining in free agency that come with lower injury and performance risks. For Jackson, this has to serve as a wake-up call as to how close to the end of his career the defender is nearing if things don't turn in the right direction. Wherever this next opportunity might come, it is clear it won't be with an Eagles team that has firmly closed the book on Jackson's frustrating tenure.
