The Philadelphia Eagles are using the next couple of weeks to rest up before returning for training camp in July. Organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp went well for the defending Super Bowl Champions, giving them some decent momentum heading into the rest of the summer.
Even though the latest offseason phase is over, teams around the league are still making some additions to their roster, and a former Eagles defender landed a deal.
Former Eagles CB Mario Goodrich III Signs With the Broncos
According to Denver Post's Luca Evans, the Denver Broncos are going to sign ex-Philadelphia cornerback Mario Goodrich III.
#Broncos are expected to sign cornerback Mario Goodrich III out of the UFL, per source. Played four games w/Eagles in '23.

Not yet official, but would be second straight year Broncos sign a player from UFL (Dondrea Tillman in '24). Corresponding roster move would come.
Goodrich came into the league as an undrafted free agent and latched onto the Eagles back in 2022. He bounced around the active roster and practice squad in Philadelphia. During the 2023 season, he appeared in four games (1 start) for the Eagles. In those outings, he had five total tackles.
Philadelphia ended up waiving Goodrich last summer, and he joined the New York Giants for a short time. The Eagles' NFC East rival also waived him with an injury designation, leading to his joining the Birmingham Stallions in the UFL.
This past season for the Stallions, he had 16 total tackles, five pass deflections, and three forced fumbles.
Goodrich used this campaign with the Stallions to his advantage and got another chance to make an NFL roster. He will be able to fight for his spot during training camp and clearly has the tools needed to make an NFL roster.
Goodrich also spent four years at Clemson, suiting up in 47 games for the Tigers. In those contests, he had 69 total tackles, 16 pass breakups, and five picks.
Cracking the roster won't be easy for Goodrich, though, as Denver's secondary already has a ton of names. That list includes Riley Moss, Kris Abrams-Draine, Joshua Pickett, Jaden Robinson, Pat Surtain II, Damarri Mathis, Quinton Newsome, Jahdae Barron, Ja'Quan McMillian, and Reese Taylor.
Training camp will be an interesting battle in the cornerback room, leaving time to tell if the former Eagles defender will capitalize on his opportunity to play in the NFL next season.
