At this point in the NFL offseason, free agency is at a standstill. Most teams have their 90-man rosters set for training camp and aren’t looking to make a major move to bring in a veteran at this stage.

Now, that’s not to say it won’t happen during training camp next month when we see injuries pop up at various positions. Former Philadelphia Eagles players such as James Bradberry, Rasul Douglas, and Carson Wentz are good candidates to sign with a new team sometime next month.

That said, with mandatory minicamp still happening for some teams across the league, it allows other lower-tier veteran free agents to receive a workout in hopes of signing now or in the future.

One former Eagles defender is among those free agents looking to secure his next opportunity as he’s reportedly working out for a team in the NFC East.

Ex-Eagle K'Von Wallace Receives Tryout From New York Giants

According to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com, former Eagle K’Von Wallace is one of four tryout players at the New York Giants' minicamp.

The 27-year-old Wallace spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks. The ex-Eagles defender had 15 combined tackles and a forced fumble in nine games. Wallace spent most of his time on special teams, playing 53% of snaps, compared to 21% on defense.

The veteran defensive back began his career with the Eagles, who drafted Wallace in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Fans were hyped to see the Eagles draft Wallace, especially with what he showed on his tape at Clemson. However, that hype quickly fizzled.

In his three years in Philadelphia, Wallace appeared in 45 games but only started in seven. He racked up 64 combined tackles, two pass deflections, and a fumble recovery.

Wallace didn’t return for his fourth season with the Eagles, as they released him at the end of preseason in August 2023.

After getting cut, Wallace was immediately signed by the Arizona Cardinals. It wasn’t a shock to see him go to Arizona, given that former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was the head coach.

Wallace only played seven games with the Cardinals before they moved on in late October. From there, the ex-Eagle spent the rest of the 2023 campaign with the Tennessee Titans. It will be interesting to see if he can catch the attention of the Giants’ coaching staff after bouncing around the league over the last two years.
