The Philadelphia Eagles have been hard at work at OTAs as the calendar turns to June, focusing on finding a way to create a back-to-back Super Bowl champion threat despite suffering signifiant roster turnover during the offseason.

While the Eagles are trying to create a dynastic run, other organizations around the NFL are desperate to close the gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots." Parity has been limited in the league in the last decade, with essentially Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Howie Roseman, and Kyle Shanahan running shop.

That said, one former Philadelphia head coach is making noise for his recent comments directly opposing criticism of one key change that a rookie is making during OTAs.

Former Eagles Coach Chip Kelly Claps Back at Ashton Jeanty Critics

There's been a substantial debate about Las Vegas Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty's minor stance chance. He's been directed to change his approach, and Chip Kelly, who served as Philadelphia's head coach from 2013-2015 and mandated the tweak, isn't happy about the criticism.

"It literally is about three inches," Kelly said. "So I don't think it's that big a deal."

He makes a fair point. Something as minor as that adjustment for one of the best college football running backs we've ever seen shouldn't create chaos. Kelly, despite flailing out as the Eagles' leader, is a brilliant mind in this sport and knows what he's talking about. Jeanty was selected at No. 6 in the 2025 NFL Draft for a reason, and his franchise clearly believes in him.

This will be Kelly's first year as the Raiders' offensive coordinator and there's reason to believe he'll make Philly fans miss him. With Geno Smith, an improved wide receiver room, and Jeanty at his disposal, to say nothing of rising superstar tight end Brock Bowers, this is an offense ready to challenge the AFC.

All that said, the Eagles aren't exactly sad they let Kelly go. He's an offensive mastermind, though failed to show it during his time with the organization. Perhaps this time will be different for him and based on the Raiders' limited competitive window, fans shouldn't be hesitant to cheer him on. With someone like Jeanty under his tutelage, Kelly just might find the success it once felt he was destined for.
