The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL this season. As a result, they are primed to make a deep playoff run and potentially even make it back to the Super Bowl. Nevertheless, like every team, the Eagles aren't able to maximize every player that comes through Philadelphia.

Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. is an example of that. Okwuegbunam had all the talent in the world, but injuries cut his time in Philadelphia short. However, according to the Indianapolis Colts' official team account, Okwuegbunam signed with the Colts.

The welcome for the 26-year-old hasn't been the warmest. The replies under their social media post demonstrate how fans really feel about this signing.

Former Eagles Tight End Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. Signs with the Colts

The Denver Broncos drafted Okwuegbunam in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft and his talent showed quickly. In 26 games with the Broncos, Okwuegbunam recorded 54 receptions for 546 yards and four touchdowns. However, a multitude of injuries forced Denver to move on.

Thus, Okwuegbunam was traded to the Eagles on August 24, 2023. During the 2023 season, Okwuegbunam recorded a single reception for no yards. Yet, the Eagles gave him a one-year contract extension on February 23, 2024.

Sadly, Okwuegbunam ended up on injured reserve again on August 27 and then was released on November 5.

Clearly, Okwuegbunam possesses traits that could make him a good tight end in this league, or teams wouldn't keep trying to sign him. Hopefully, Okwuegbunam's injury luck turns around because seeing a player's career get derailed by injuries is sad.

Everyone in Denver and Philadelphia wishes that Okwuegbunam can stay healthy going forward.
