The Philadelphia Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions and making their roster is a tall task for the upcoming season. While the Eagles lost some talent in free agency, they’ve also begun making changes for 2025, attempting to put themselves in the best position to succeed entering OTAs and eventually training camp.
With roster spots at a premium, there are several former Eagles who could be looking at an opportunity elsewhere. That includes one player that found a new team and is hoping to crack their roster in the coming months.
Former Eagles RB Tyrion Davis-Price Signs With Titans
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, former Eagles running back Tyrion Davis-Price is signing a two-year deal with the Tennessee Titans. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but it’s another chance for Davis-Price in the NFL after he was selected with the 93rd overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2022.
Despite the high draft capital, Price hasn’t seen much success in the NFL so far. The LSU product had 99 yards on 34 carries during his rookie year in San Francisco but has appeared in just two games the past two seasons, racking up 9 carries on 28 yards. His lone season in Philadelphia was also uneventful, as he had three carries for seven yards in a Week 16 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Even if his limited production wasn’t indicative of his standing with the Eagles, Davis-Price was in the middle of a crowded running back room. Saquon Barkley continues to be the lead back while free agent pickups A.J. Dillon, Avery Williams, and 2024 fourth-round pick Will Shipley make up the first four spots on the depth chart.
Davis-Price enters a softer situation in Tennessee, even with Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears locks to make the team. Julius Chestnut, 2025 sixth-round pick Kalel Mullings, and Micah Bernard are candidates to battle for the third spot, but Davis-Price’s two-year deal suggests he may have an advantage in that battle.
