The Philadelphia Eagles have undergone quite a bit of roster turnover in recent years though have managed to keep a championship core around, elevated by marquee additions and excellent draft choices.
Not every acquisition has worked out, but the organization is obviously intent on staying active and looking for diamonds in the rough, as evidenced by Monday night's trade for cornerback Jakorian Bennett.
Other teams do the same thing, though, and now one former Eagle who didn't last long is now signing with an NFC foe that doesn't like Philadelphia.

Packers Sign Former Eagles OL Lecitus Smith
Green Bay Packers insider Matt Schneidman of The Athletic noted that the organization signed OL Lecitus Smith and waived WR Sam Brown Jr. Smith was originally a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals but was waived after his rookie campaign, having suited up for 10 games but only starting two.
He primarily plays left guard, though he has intrigue on the right side as well. After a stint with the Houston Texans, he came to the Eagles' practice squad in late 2023, but he was released after the 2024 NFL Draft. Philadelphia has perhaps the NFL's best offensive line and certainly the most popular offensive line coach in Jeff Stoutland, always making it unlikely that there was any legitimate path to playing time for Smith.
Now, he'll join an uneasy line in Green Bay that needs some reinforcements following a handful of camp injuries. 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan hasn't made an impact, further complicating the room. The Packers can use all the help they can get after losing to the Eagles in the playoffs and failing to ban the Tush Push this offseason
Green Bay has an exciting young core, but their roster still isn't close to Philly's. They need to keep taking these types of dart throws, however, in an effort to close that gap. At this point, the NFC runs through the Eagles regardless and it'll take a lot more than this signing to take them down.
Smith will compete with Travis Glover, Kadeem Telfort, and Donovan Jennings behind Aaron Banks. The ongoing ailments to Banks and Glover could give Smith an opportunity for playing time, though, so it'll be interesting to see if he can take advantage of the chance.
