You have to have a certain level of irrational confidence to play defensive back in the NFL, and a former member of the Philadelphia Eagles showed that character trait off in a big way during a recent session with the media.
Veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson recently made headlines for suggesting that the Eagles' decision to trade him to the Houston Texans had nothing to do with his salary, as the front office in Philadelphia maintains.
Now, Gardner-Johnson is making guarantees to the media, which is never a good idea unless you are desperate to be criticized for not meeting lofty expectations.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson Guaranteeing He'll Win Super Bowl This Year
“I got three more championships in me," Gardner-Johnson said, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. "I’m probably going to win the next three. I’m going to get me another Super Bowl this year.”
There are just a couple of things here that make Gardner-Johnson's prediction borderline ridiculous. First, no NFL franchise has won three consecutive championships during the Super Bowl era. Second, the Houston Texans have never even reached the AFC Championship game, let alone the Super Bowl.
If winning three more championships, let alone three in a row, was truly important to Gardner-Johnson, he would be best served trying to do whatever it takes to return to Philadelphia rather than attempt to make NFL history in Houston.
While the Eagles and Texans do not square off during the 2025 regular season, it wouldn't be a shock to see these comments spur some harsh feelings towards the veteran safety from the fans in the City of Brotherly Love.
Houston has a good football team that will likely contend for the AFC South crown. The difference between the Texans and the Eagles is that Philadelphia has been to the mountaintop and laid claim to the Vince Lombardi Trophy twice over the last 10 years.
