The Philadelphia Eagles currently aren’t projected to have a ton of cap space ($18.2 million) to work with, per OverTheCap, which means general manager Howie Roseman will need to be very meticulous with his decisions on the margins.

Last offseason, Roseman signed multiple veteran pass rushers to one-year deals in hopes that they would become instant impact players on the defensive line. That never happened, and led the Eagles to trade for Jaelan Phillips at the deadline to bolster the pass rush.

Looking ahead to NFL free agency next month, Philadelphia could be in the market for a new No. 2 cornerback opposite of Quinyon Mitchell, as Adoree’ Jackson is scheduled to be a free agent. Jackson, who is 31 years old, shockingly played well after getting off to a rough start, opening the door for a return.

Jackson probably won’t have a huge market in free agency due to his age, which could increase his chances of returning to the city of Brotherly Love.

That being said, the Eagles will hope to find a slightly younger starting option in free agency or the draft. If it's free agency, ex-Washington Commanders cornerback Benjamin St-Juste could be an intriguing option for Philadelphia.

Former Commanders CB Benjamin St-Juste Should Be on Eagles’ FA Radar

The Eagles are familiar with St-Juste, who spent the first four years of his football career with the Commanders.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound cornerback was a full-time starter in three of those seasons, with his most impressive year coming in 2023. During that season, St-Juste racked up 67 combined tackles, 17 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, an interception, a sack, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hit.

As for his coverage skills, St-Juste played well for the Commanders, as opposing quarterbacks had trouble completing passes against him despite targeting him 106 times (63.2%). St-Juste only allowed two TDs and had an 87.3 pass rating when targeted.

St-Juste wasn’t re-signed by the Commanders last offseason, which led him to the Los Angeles Chargers on a cheap one-year, $2.5 million deal. With the Chargers, St-Juste played more of a reserve role in their secondary, starting in only two games. However, he still appeared in 16 games, playing 37% of defensive and 72% of special teams snaps.

In the limited playing time that he had on defense, the ex-Commanders cornerback posted seven pass deflections and an interception. He also possessed a 53.5% completion rate allowed on targets, gave up one touchdown, and had a spectacular 68.3 passer rating.

St-Juste also cleaned up his tackling issues, which plagued him in Washington. During his tenure with the Commanders, he had 19 missed tackles. With the Chargers, he had zero.

Based on his performance in a reserve role, it would make sense that the Chargers would try to bring St-Juste back, especially with Spotrac projecting his market value as a one-year, $1.7 million deal.

If that’s the going rate for St-Juste, the Eagles should throw their hat into the ring as they could offer him a starting role in a secondary that has two All-Pros in Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. With his size and physicality on the outside, it would be an intriguing addition to the secondary.

The Eagles were able to get away with Jackson on the outside, as Kelee Ringo and Jakorian Bennett left much to be desired in 2025. But they can’t expect that to happen again, so they must make CB2 a much bigger priority in 2026.
