Eagles Would Hate This Commanders Projected Blockbuster WR Trade
By Cem Yolbulan
As it has been for the past couple of years, the expectation for the NFC East this season was that the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys would vie for the top spot and both teams presumably make the postseason. Then, the Washington Commanders emerged, winning four straight games and looking like a real threat to win the division.
This was supposed to be a rebuilding season for the Commanders under Dan Quinn. However, rookie sensation Jayden Daniels looks ahead of schedule and Washington currently has the best offense in the NFL.
This could potentially force their hand to make a win-now move at the trade deadline. ESPN's Ben Solak came up with a trade proposal that could get the Commanders' offense to the next level. In this scenario, Washington gives up two third-round picks to land Tee Higgins from the struggling Cincinnati Bengals.
Commanders Land WR Tee Higgins in ESPN's Trade Proposal
Higgins failed to reach a long-term contract extension with the Bengals in the offseason. He is currently playing on the franchise tag after missing the first two games of the season. In three games so far, he has 18 catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bengals are a shocking 1-4 to start the season. They are at risk of losing Higgins for nothing in the 2025 offseason. If they are out of postseason contention by the November 5 trade deadline, they should seriously consider moving Higgins for draft capital.
The Commanders sent their starting wide receiver Jahan Dotson to the Eagles before the season. They now have Terry McLaurin as their go-to pass-catcher with former Eagles Olamide Zaccheaus as a solid depth option. They could certainly use an upgrade in their WR rotation and Higgins is one of the best options potentially available.
