The Philadelphia Eagles' impressive roster building in recent years has made them a gold standard in the NFL. General manager Howie Roseman is one of the best general managers in the league, and the organization will enter the 2025 campaign as favorites to win the NFC once again and compete for a Lombardi Trophy.

Both the offensive and defensive lines are Philadelphia's calling cards, though it's hard to ignore the impressive pass-catching group surrounding Jalen Hurts as well.

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Saquon Barkley draw the headlines, though guys like Dallas Goedert deserve praise as well. Unfortunately, however, one veteran is almost certainly entering his final, and only, preseason with the franchise.

Eagles TE Harrison Bryant Is on the Chopping Block Entering August

Tight end Harrison Bryant, who was once a fourth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2020 NFL Draft, signed a one-year deal with the Eagles worth just over $1 million. He's projected to be fourth on the depth chart at this stage by ESPN, though, and without an excellent preseason, it's hard to picture him making the final 53-man roster.

Goedert, fresh off a contract extension, Grant Calcaterra, and Kylen Granson all sit ahead of Bryant. It's rare for a team to keep four tight ends out of training camp, suggesting that Bryant's days are numbered.

After spending four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Bryant appeared in 13 games for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024, catching a mere nine passes for 86 yards. During his career, he only has 877 receiving yards, albeit with an impressive 10 TDs, and he's failed to showcase the dynamic athleticism he displayed as a star at Florida Atlantic University.

At 27 years old, Bryant is theoretically still in his athletic prime. It's possible that he shines in the preseason and convinces head coach Nick Sirianni to keep him around, especially considering Goedert's injury history, but Roseman's shrewd roster-building moves will make that a difficult decision.

It's only his first preseason with Philadelphia but barring a big surprise, it'll be his last.
