After a pretty good NFL draft by most Philadelphia Eagles fans’ standards, the team has begun putting together their UDFA class for this year and inviting other undrafted players to rookie minicamp.

For the undrafted players receiving rookie minicamp invites/tryouts, it's their one chance over a three-day window to prove they deserve a spot on the 90-man roster. One player, in particular, with two other brothers who played in the NFL, is looking to prove himself to the Eagles.

According to Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle, former North Texas cornerback Ridge Texada received a rookie minicamp invite from the Eagles.

Ridge looks to follow in the footsteps of his older brothers, who have played a lot of pro football in their careers. Ranthony played in the NFL with Washington, the XFL, and the CFL. His other brother, Raleigh, had a stint with Green Bay and in the XFL.

The 5-foot-8 defensive back had a stellar career at North Texas, where he was named first-team All-Conference USA in 2022 and third-team All-American Athletic Conference this past season.

Over his four-year career, Texada produced 140 combined tackles, 32 pass deflections (school record), five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), and a forced fumble.

Last season, he recorded 44 combined tackles, eight pass deflections, two tackles for loss, an interception, and a forced fumble. Even though Texada doesn’t have the prototypical size to play on the outside, he held his own at UNT with his speed.

Texada will likely be a slot cornerback at the next level. At his size, he does a good job driving and leveraging the ball when playing off-coverage. At the same time, Texada’s tackling must improve as he struggles to properly wrap up and bring a guy down.

However, with only three days to prove himself with the Eagles, the former North Texas will hope to compete and show Philadelphia why he deserves to go to training camp and follow in his brothers' footsteps.
