Eagles Dealt Terrible WR Injury News Ahead of Big Primetime Game
By Jovan Alford
The Philadelphia Eagles will put their six-game winning streak on the line when they travel west to play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.
The Eagles have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Commanders over the last few weeks.
The Commanders were seen as Philly’s test to see if they were real and they passed it. Now they have to embark on a two-game road trip that begins this week against the Rams.
Philadelphia hopes to be at full strength when they face the Rams, but there’s a possibility that they could be without one of their key playmakers on offense.
Eagles News: DeVonta Smith Misses Thursday’s Practice With Injury
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Eagles standout wide receiver DeVonta Smith was not at practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Smith is currently nursing a hamstring injury.
Smith missed a game earlier this season due to a concussion he suffered in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.
The former Alabama star has been dealing with this hamstring injury for the last few weeks and was seen walking gingerly after the Eagles’ win over the Commanders.
If Smith cannot play on Sunday night, the Eagles will look for Jahan Dotson and rookie Johnny Wilson Jr. to step up in the passing game.
Smith’s possible absence could open up more looks for tight end Dallas Goedert. Goedert had five receptions (five targets) for 61 yards against Washington. Despite Smith’s injury, the Eagles are 2.5-point road favorites against the Rams on DraftKings Sportsbook.
