The Philadelphia Eagles have seen several changes come to their coaching staff since their season ended in the wild-card round. Although they haven't made any roster moves just yet, there will be a ton of new faces in Philly, which is both good and bad.
On the offensive end, the best change for the Eagles was firing Kevin Patullo and replacing him with Sean Mannion. Although Mannion hasn't called plays before, he brings a new offensive touch to a unit that badly needed it.
The Eagles were 24th in total offense (311.2) and 20th in scoring offense (22.3). It seems like the idea of new voices will go a long way. Not only did they add Mannion, but they also hired Josh Grizzard away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their passing game coordinator after he served as Tampa's OC in 2025.
Philadelphia has made these changes a priority, but at the same time, everything hasn't been positive for this group. And the losses could have a bigger effect on the team.
Eagles Have Had Uneven Start to Offseason
Longtime Eagles offensive line coach and run game coordinator Jeff Stoutland decided to leave the team this offseason. ESPN's Tim McManus wrote, "Stoutland was not consulted about the changes to what he felt was an appropriate degree, a league source said, to the point where he no longer desired the title of run game coordinator because he felt it no longer fit his job description."
Stoutland was a mainstay in Philly, helping coach Pro Bowlers and All-Pros while playing a key role in the Eagles' dominant ground games during his 13-year tenure with the team. He constantly found ways to get the most out of anyone up front, but that piece will be gone in 2026.
He was offered another role under Mannion but declined, showing how he felt about this coaching staff. And the guy they replaced him with isn't much better. Philadelphia is slated to name Chris Kuper its new offensive line coach, but he's coming from the Vikings, where his units didn't put up good numbers. Minnesota's interior offensive line struggled under Kuper, which could be a concern in the City of Brotherly Love moving forward.

For a team that dealt with struggles and injuries along the offensive line in 2025, losing one of the best coaches ever at the position to replace him with a coach whose resume doesn't reflect the same level of experience or success is less than ideal.
The Eagles also lost defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Christian Parker to their rival, the Dallas Cowboys. He played an integral role in the development of both Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell. Both guys have become All-Pro corners under his watch, and now that job has been given to Joe Kasper.
This is the first time he'll be in this role, but there's room for optimism. He was part of the staff in Miami as their safeties coach for the 2023 season, helping Javon Holland become a Pro Bowl alternate, as the Dolphins finished tied for eighth in takeaways (27).
What will help Kasper's cause is his experience working with Vic Fangio. That should help make his transition a bit easier. Nonetheless, the Eagles' offseason has been up and down thus far, with plenty more moves slated to come.
There are reasons to be excited about some of the moves, but the losses this team has experienced are significant. And Philadelphia will feel those departures next season.
