The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans are still riding high, as they absolutely should be, after the team's dominant performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
While the players are still enjoying the fruits of their labor, the front office turned the page to the 2025 campaign a while ago and is now faced with another tough decision regarding a key veteran and their place on the roster moving forward.
With the NFL Draft on the horizon, Howie Roseman and the rest of the front office will have to make the call on whether or not trading the longtime starter is the best thing for the future of the franchise as he is set to enter the final year of his contract, as it is currently constructed.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert's Job is in Jeopardy Heading into the NFL Draft
There is no need for speculation here. Reports have indicated that the Eagles tight end has been a name to watch on the trade market, and that fact was reiterated on Thursday by Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. Goedert's situation is reportedly being closely monitored by teams throughout the league, and there is a belief that future draft capital could be all that is needed in order to swing a deal.
Sources: #Eagles TE Dallas Goedert remains a name to watch on the trade market as the draft approaches. Interested teams believe Philadelphia would be open to future picks if they don’t receive 2025 draft capital.

With this being as strong of a draft class at the tight end position as we have seen in recent memory, the opportunity should be there for Philadelphia to use a day two pick on a player at that position. Ideally, this player can come in and push Grant Calcaterra and Cameron Latu for playing time if they were to find a deal that would benefit the Eagles now and in the future.
The 30-year-old tight end has been a mainstay in Philadelphia's offense for quite some time as he has made 60 starts for the Eagles over the course of the last four seasons and has reeled in 212 receptions and 12 touchdowns over that stretch, making him one of Jalen Hurts' more reliable targets.
With Goedert now on the wrong side of the age of 30, Roseman and the rest of Philadelphia's front office could have some concerns over offering him a long-term contract. If that is ultimately the decision the Eagles are faced with, then it seems entirely possible that Goedert may have very well already played his last snap as a member of Philadelphia's roster.
Should the Eagles elect to hold on to Goedert through the draft and into the regular season, he would carry a cap hit of just under $11.8 million before he would hit unrestricted free agency in early 2026.
