The Philadelphia Eagles have an NFC tilt against the Minnesota Vikings on the schedule for Week 7. While nothing will be given to them in that matchup by a strong Vikings defense, the Eagles are looking to snap their two-game skid and jumpstart their offense.

A.J. Brown has been a constant topic of discussion thus far, and he'll have the chance this weekend to put together a breakout performance against former Eagles corner Isaiah Rodgers. Nonetheless, Philadelphia is reportedly looking to improve at cornerback and edge rusher on the trade market, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

Another area that should make an addition is on the free agent market after the Washington Commanders released Tay Martin from the practice squad, after they signed Treylon Burks to the practice squad instead.

The move wasn't received well by Washington fans, indicating he showed some flashes. And even if it's just an addition to the practice squad, the Eagles should make the move.

Eagles Should Sign Tay Martin After Being Released by the Commanders

Washington elevated Martin a maximum of three times to the active roster this season. Instead of adding him to the active roster, they decided to release him. Martin spent the entire summer and first month of the season with Washington. He has a great understanding of their offense and infrastructure.

Even though the Eagles and Commanders have yet to play each other this season, those two divisional games will happen over three weeks (Weeks 16 & 18). Picking up Martin would be a win-win, as he would give them another depth piece in the WR room while also giving Philadelphia knowledge on a division rival.

During the preseason with the Commanders, Martin has five catches (six targets) for 57 receiving yards. He even got some run during the regular season with Washington, as he had two catches with 23 receiving yards in three outings.

Martin played in just 30 total snaps over the last three weeks, but clearly played solidly in those outings that fans were upset to see him go. Injuries are a part of the game, so having extra depth options should always be a priority. The 27-year-old also played for the 49ers and Titans before joining the Commanders and could also be a special teams contributor.

The Eagles have an open spot on the practice squad, so they have the space to make the move. And it's something they should certainly consider.
