Eagles Should Save Young CB Who's Stuck on Titans' Sinking Ship

The Titans are going nowhere fast and Philadelphia needs to take advantage of it.

Through the first six games of the 2025 season, the Philadelphia Eagles have not solved their ongoing CB2 issue, which is far from ideal. In their Week 6 loss to the New York Giants, the Eagles saw Kelee Ringo and Adoree’ Jackson both struggle in their own ways, solidifying why the team should go after a cornerback ahead of the trade deadline.

There should be a few cornerbacks available at the deadline, especially on teams that are likely to sell off and play for a draft pick in the 2026 draft. Most Eagles fans would love to see the team go after Riq Woolen, who has fallen out of favor in Seattle.

However, another cornerback worth keeping an eye on in the coming weeks is Roger McCreary of the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have one win on the season and just fired their head coach, Brian Callahan, on Monday, which could open the door for a potential fire sale.

Titans CB Roger McCreary Should be on Eagles’ Radar Ahead of Deadline

Over the weekend, ESPN’s Adam Schefter listed McCreary as one of two CBs as potential trade candidates ahead of the Nov. 4 deadline.

The Titans aren’t exactly deep at cornerback, as they just traded away Jarvis Brownlee to the New York Jets on Sept. 23. The Titans got a sixth-round pick in return from Brownlee, while also giving up a seventh-round pick.

Now, if the Eagles want to acquire McCreary’s services, it will cost them more than a sixth-round selection. The former second-round pick is in the last year of his rookie deal, and it's not clear if Tennessee has intentions of re-signing him.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound McCreary is a physical and athletic cornerback who has racked up 17 pass deflections and an interception over his four-year career. After starting in seven games in 2024 and 28 combined in his first two years, McCreary has started once out of the six games he played in this season.

That lone start was in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams, where the former second-round pick struggled in pass coverage. McCreary allowed 65 yards on four completions (five targets) and allowed a 118.7 passer rating when targeted.

However, since that performance, McCreary has only allowed 62 combined yards in his next three games, which do not include Sunday’s game against Las Vegas. McCreary has seen his playing time fluctuate this season, as he only saw the field for a season-low 25 defensive snaps against the Raiders.

At this point in the regular season, we know what Ringo and Jackson are as starters, and it's not great. The Eagles could consider taking another flier on another cornerback to see if that player can stake his claim to the CB2 job and earn a long-term deal.

If you’re Roseman, McCreary might be worth the gamble, as he’s only given up three receiving TDs since his rookie season, where he allowed six TDs. At worst, it doesn’t work out, and you let him walk.

However, if he proves to be a potential starter for the long run at 25 years old, it fits perfectly with what you already have with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. We’ll see what Roseman and the Eagles do, as they cannot afford to sit still with their glaring issues on defense.
