The Philadelphia Eagles have used the last couple of months to make additions to their roster. After winning Super Bowl 59, they know the target will be on their backs in 2025.
The Eagles made 10 selections in April's draft, and there's one player in particular who went under the radar in his first month with the team. Defensive tackle Ty Robinson was drafted in the fourth round with the 111th overall pick. Even though he hasn't been talked about since getting selected, he's someone who could play a big role in 2025.
Ty Robinson Could Seize a Big Role for Eagles in 2025
Philadelphia had Milton Williams leave in free agency. They still have Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis along the interior, but they need someone who will be the third defensive tackle. That guy will likely be Robinson, and there's a good shot he makes an impact as a rookie.
He was a five-year starter at Nebraska and is stout, making him tough for offensive linemen to move. The Arizona native has superb play recognition skills in both the run and pass game, allowing him to be consistently disruptive.
During the 2024 season with the Cornhuskers, he had 37 total tackles with team-highs in tackles for loss (12.5) and sacks (7). He also batted four passes down at the line of scrimmage and notched 42 pressures.
Robinson has the tools that will make him an effective player in the league. He plays hard on every snap, and that is something that will catch the attention of a coaching staff.
OTAs and mandatory minicamp will be taking place over the next couple of weeks for Philadelphia. Everyone will then get a couple of weeks off before returning for training camp. Robinson is someone fans should keep an eye on. The Eagles aren't afraid to give rookies significant reps. They showcased that in 2024 by starting Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
Even if Robinson isn't a starter, he's someone fans should get familiar with before the season gets rolling.
