The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a dominant 22-10 wild card victory over the Green Bay Packers. That said, this week, the Eagles face a Los Angeles Rams team that looked red hot in their victory over the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, all hands will have to be on deck to defeat the Rams at home on Sunday.

Despite that, one Eagle is campaigning for more playing time on Sunday. According to Zach Berman of PHLY, rookie linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. would like to see the field more on Sunday.

On Wednesday, Trotter told reporters, "I definitely feel like I'm ready — prepared every single week like I'm going to start. Try to make sure I'm always on top of my what I'm going to do as far as mentally and preparation-wise."

Trotter's desire to get on the field and help the Eagles during this playoff run is what you would like to see from a rookie. The likelihood of Trotter seeing increased playing time on Sunday or any time during this playoff run has also gone up following the injury to starter Nakobe Dean.

Currently, Trotter may be considered behind Oren Burks opposite of Zach Baun, but the Eagles' coaching staff has already teased they're looking at the rookie to possibly step up in Dean's absence.

Burks opened the wild card victory over the Packers with a massive forced fumble on the opening kickoff. While that was a game-altering play, the linebacker also left much to be desired when actually playing defense, with his struggles in coverage coming back to bite Philly again. That's very likely playing a role in Trotter being strongly considered by the coaches to absorb at least some of Dean's snaos.

Even if Trotter is passed over in favor of Burks to start on Sunday, he may still see an increase of playing time from the 10% of defensive snaps he took during the regular season.
