The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2025 NFL Draft looking to add more talent to their roster ahead of this upcoming season.

The Eagles have eight picks, including No. 32 overall at the end of the first round. Philadelphia hopes to add an instant contributor who can help them make another run at a Super Bowl title.

However, the same cannot be said for their NFC East rival, the New York Giants. The Giants finished with the third-worst record in the NFL last season (3-14) and are a long way from competing for a division title, let alone a Super Bowl.

Earlier this offseason, the belief was the Giants would target a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick. New York had other plans; they signed Russell Wilson to a one-year, $10.5 million deal and Jameis Winston to a two-year, $8 million contract.

With Wilson and Winston signed, it makes no sense for the Giants to draft a rookie who would be QB3 next season. However, the Giants are still leaving the door open on taking a QB, but they are reportedly split on one particular prospect, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

"And yet there still might not be consensus within the building about whether to draft him. There is a belief around the league that certain segments of the Giants organization want Sanders more than others. Per sources, Sanders wants to be in a place where he has the full support of an organization, and there are questions about whether the Giants fit into that category."

After not taking a quarterback in last year’s NFL draft, the Giants are getting another chance at addressing the position. However, the fact that they are still split on Shedeur Sanders just days before the first round is not great.

If the Giants don’t take Sanders, they could miss out on taking him, as the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers are two other QB-needy teams in the first round. The Giants’ next pick won’t be until No. 34 at the top of the second round.

At that point in the NFL draft, the Giants could be forced to take Tyler Shough or Jalen Milroe. Milroe likely offers more upside as a prospect than Shough, who is 25 years old. However, some believe Milroe, who is explosive as a runner and has an electrifying arm, needs to sit for a year before playing, which could work in New York with two vets.

That said, the Giants will be playing with fire if they decide to pass on Sanders in hopes of another quarterback being available either late in the first round or top of the second round. Meanwhile, Eagles fans don’t have to worry about that as the team already has their franchise QB in Jalen Hurts, who is fresh off a Super Bowl MVP.
