The Philadelphia Eagles weren't ultra-aggressive during free agency, but that doesn't mean the additions they made won't make things harder for holdovers from last year's roster. Cornerback Kelee Ringo has been on the team for the last three seasons, but it's obvious how they feel about him.

Based on the moves the Eagles have made in free agency, they don't have trust in Ringo. They signed both Tariq Woolen and Jonathan Jones, adding to their CB room, but those signings quietly rang the alarm bells on Ringo.

Free Agent Signings Show Eagles Don’t Have Complete Trust in Kelee Ringo

The Eagles have two All-Pro DBs in Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. With Mitchell on one side and DeJean locking down the slot, Philadelphia was looking badly for another option on the opposite side of Mitchell.

Woolen, who is coming off a Super Bowl title with the Seattle Seahawks, was their choice. He had his fair share of ups and downs during his tenure in Seattle, but the Eagles are banking on him playing better in this scheme. In 64 career games (53 starts), Woolen had 203 total tackles, 53 pass deflections, and 12 interceptions.

While he isn't a perfect player, he stands at 6'4" and has 4.26 speed. And even though there's still room for improvement, the Eagles have turned the page on Ringo being a starter on this team. Last season, he played a career-high 311 defensive snaps but didn't produce results that instilled any meaningful levels of confidence.

Over 17 games (three starts), Ringo had 37 total tackles, two pass deflections, and one interception. On PFF, he had a 55.3 overall grade (86th among 114 graded CBs) and a 49.2 coverage grade (104th among 114 graded CBs). In coverage, he allowed 12 catches (22 targets) for 186 yards. He was picked on when he took the field, allowing 40+ yards in three of the six games he played more than 22 defensive snaps. With Mitchell, Woolen, and DeJean the top three CBs, the battle for CB4 and beyond will be between Ringo, Michael Carter II, Jonathan Jones, Ambry Thomas, Jakorian Bennett, and Mac McWilliams.

And after three seasons of being in the building, the former Georgia product will have to fight for his job in 2026. The Eagles adding two more bodies to the CB room only adds more competition for the cornerbacks, putting another hurdle in front of Ringo.

He's entering the final year of his rookie deal, and the odds of his future continuing there only seem to be decreasing. If Ringo doesn't have a strong offseason, there's a good chance he won't be on the 53-man roster in 2026. The 23-year-old had a chance to lock down a starting job but fumbled the opportunity. And now, the Eagles rang the alarm around his future in the city of Brotherly Love.
