The Philadelphia Eagles' chronic issues at cornerback have been a talking point for most of the season. While defensive coordinator Vic Fangio might be forced to work with what he's got at hand, he's made it loud and clear that he's not satisfied with Kelee Ringo or Adoree' Jackson.

With that in mind, some thought that GM Howie Roseman would be all over Tennessee Titans veteran Roger McCreary. That's why it was so disappointing to read Ian Rapoport's report of McCreary's trade to the Los Angeles Rams. Still, there's a pretty obvious trade target for Philadelphia that remains available before the deadline.

The Eagles Should Trade For Michael Carter II

The Jets just got their first win of the season, but that's not likely to happen very often. They will most likely focus on the 2026 NFL Draft, and as such, they will part ways with several veterans. That should include Michael Carter II.

Carter played a season-low six snaps in the win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Jarvis Brownlee Jr. has been a nice addition to their secondary defense, and it sounds like head coach Aaron Glenn has changed his stance on potentially trading players.

That makes a proven veteran like Carter an obvious trade target, and the Eagles might not even need to give up much to get him. Besides acquiring Brownlee in late September, they also prioritized keeping Isaiah Oliver around, so they may have been bracing to move on from Carter for a while now.

The Eagles might be able to lure Carter to the City of Brotherly Love in return for a Day 3 pick, and while he's not the type of big-name player Roseman usually targets, he can certainly be a sneaky upgrade at a position of need. Even if he doesn't do well, they could just cut ties with him after the season.

So far, Carter's made five appearances with four starts this season, logging 14 total tackles (nine solo), two passes defensed, and one tackle for loss. He's clearly lost ground in Gotham, but that doesn't mean he's not a serviceable player.

The Eagles used to hang their hat on their defense, but they've given up way too many big plays this season. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell are still stars at their respective positions, but unless they add someone else to handle CB2 duties, that might come back to haunt them when it matters the most.
