Philadelphia Eagles fans have zero reason to doubt that GM Howie Roseman is always going to be in the middle of any opportunity to improve his team. That has been on display throughout the last month with Roseman striking notable trades at both quarterback and receiver. However, it appears Philly's sights were set a bit higher before a frustrating rival stepped in the way. A recent report emerged, making it clear the Eagles were attempting to land Micah Parsons.

Jerry Jones had zero interest in trading the star within the division and turned down Philly's attempts to get a deal done. Jones' having the awareness not to trade his best player to a rival is a bit of a surprise, considering just how quickly the Cowboys' roster has gone downhill. Regardless, the Eagles' pass rushers have to be a bit surprised that their jobs were in jeopardy.

Eagles Pass Rushers Likely Shocked by Roseman's Attempts to Land Micah Parsons

There are two notes here that are important to point out, with the first being the fact that Parsons on Philly's defense wouldn't have been fair. Already, you've got the most talented roster in the league and a group that is coming off steamrolling teams in both championship games. Adding one of the league's best players to this group is objectively unfair. This leads to the fact that despite his talent, Parsons doesn't fit the culture or energy of the Eagles.

Even as great an addition as Parsons might've been, the podcast the defender runs and consistent questions about what type of teammate he might be are distractions the Eagles can do without. As amazing as the addition could've been, there is an upside to not having Parsons on the roster. Another one is current pass rushers who are now debating who would be getting demoted if Roseman were able to work his magic.

Whether you are starter Nolan Smith or rotational pass rusher Josh Uche, this news has a major effect on where you believe you stand. Common sense says that the Eagles' pass rush remains top of the league, and Roseman was simply doing due diligence on one of the league's best players. However, in a room full of egos, it is impossible to believe that no one took offense to the move.

This is a Super Bowl-winning group with every reason to feel a bit slighted by the idea of being replaced, no matter the talent. As great as Parsons might be, the returning pass rushers for Philly have one accomplishment he doesn't: meaningful wins. There is also the fact that he has faded in the season's last weeks, while this is when Philly pass rushers did their best work a season ago.

It is fair to wonder if this will serve as motivation or frustration for the group. There is also the angle of Philly attempting to acquire a player it would have to pay top dollar only to turn around and lack the cap space to pay its current youth at the position. No question, it is an interesting headline, but not one without a fair amount of blowback for Eagles pass rushers who have every reason to feel Parsons simply wasn't needed.
