The Philadelphia Eagles have already made one trade at the quarterback position, sending Kenny Pickett to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. A relationship the franchise might consider revisiting after the latest shaky results. Jalen Hurts offers an incredible level of stability, but the Eagles have put nothing but question marks behind the franchise quarterback. This includes Tanner McKee, who has looked great but is far from proven.

Thompson-Robinson and Kyle McCord have both been an abject disaster. With this in mind, the Eagles could revisit the Browns' quarterback room, looking at potential answers. Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel are both safe, having just been drafted. This leaves Tyler Huntley, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett.

Philly has obviously had enough of Pickett leaving the duo of Flacco and Huntley as enticing trade options. If Flacco loses the starting job, the veteran could become available on the trade market. This opens the door for a potential second deal between the two teams. Either Huntley or Flacco is easily better than any second options the Eagles now have. While McKee has shown flashes, both veteran players have vast starting and backup experience.

Eagles Should Consider Making Another Move at QB

Adding one of the duo unquestionably improves the roster and leaves fans feeling far better if Hurts were to miss a small amount of time. In truth, no matter what backup the Eagles have in place, they are only a Super Bowl threat as long as the starter is healthy. The star quarterback continues to be underrated among the league's elite.

Another potential option could be signing Carson Wentz, who remains in free agency. Regardless, the performance of the current options demands some type of move. The Browns and other teams will likely release potential upgrades at the end of the month.

If the Eagles are willing to let the lesser options play out the preseason, this could be the cheapest path. Multiple teams are expected to cut quarterbacks who would be far better options than McCord or Thompson-Robinson. Waiting for these roster cuts when Philly is already dealing with limited cap space makes sense.

Still, a trade cannot be ruled out entirely with the Eagles remaining consistently aggressive over the last months. An elite front office is more than happy to fix obvious holes without hesitation. Philly's emergency quarterback situation certainly qualifies as this with what has been a sorry preseason showing.
