Jacobs is referencing the fact that the game-ending play was set up by the Eagles calling out the exact play the Packers were running. It resulted in the defense filling the gap and forcing Jacobs to go right, ultimately ending the game in Philly's favor. After the dumpster fire of a play, Green Bay fans didn't hesitate to begin piling on to an offense that has been consistently inept over the last two weeks. This included a long list of fans calling for the job of their head coach after imploding during the Packers' loss to the Eagles.
Making these meltdowns all the sweeter is the fact that the Packers were the team that attempted to ban the Tush-Push in the offseason. Making it incredibly fitting that the Eagles' defense chose a fake Tush-Push as the game-ending celebration after stopping Jacobs short and taking the football. It is simply hard to imagine a more perfect or fitting ending against such a hated rival.
Now, not only is one of the biggest threats to the defending champs in the NFC imploding from within, but the Eagles have proven they can beat them in their building. Something unlikely to happen in January, with the Eagles holding the NFC's top seed and in the driver's seat to own home-field advantage all the way through the playoffs.
While it certainly wasn't always pretty to watch, it turned into a truly great night for Eagles fans who cannot help but sit back and enjoy watching Packers fans turn on a head coach who has an impressive 67-33 record during his tenure. The drama in Green Bay only further cements Philadelphia as the NFC's top contender, serving as a reminder of just how powerful the Eagles are, given the different avenues they can take to find ways to win.
