On Sunday night, the Philadelphia Eagles held their one and only open practice of training camp. Though fans got to see exciting plays on both sides of the ball, they also witnessed a scary injury. Pro-Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson went down with an apparent leg injury and had to be helped off the field while limping.
Early Monday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Dickerson would be receiving further MRI testing during the day on Monday. Schefter followed up on that report in the early afternoon thought to have suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee.
He added that Dickerson is getting other opinions on the knee to see the severity of the injury. That said, if the 26-year-old ends up being out for an extended amount of time, Philadelphia may be forced to start Kenyon Green.

Landon Dickerson Injury May Force Eagles to Start Kneyon Green
The Eagles acquired Green earlier this offseason in a trade with the Houston Texans. The former first-round pick had a rough start to his career in Houston. In his two healthy seasons with the Texans, he allowed nine sacks, 16 QB hits, 50 QB hurries, 75 QB pressures, and 19 penalties according to PFF.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old has yet to record a season with a pass blocking grade above 40.0. and a run blocking grade above 48.0. Despite that, Philadelphia was hoping that offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland could help unlock Green.
However, since arriving in Philly, it's been the same story for Green. The 24-year-old failed to make a good impression during OTAs and mandatory minicamp, which landed him with the third stringers in the preseason debut. Then, during the first preseason game, he left the field with an injury.
If Dickerson is sidelined for a significant amount of time, the Eagles will be left with a choice between starting Green or any of their other backup offensive linemen. The best option besides Green would likely be veteran Matt Pryor. Pryor can play anywhere along the offensive line and is familiar with the Eagles, as this is his second time with the team under head coach Nick Sirianni.
Nevertheless, Philadelphia would likely rather have Green healthy and push him to be successful, even if that's not what Eagles fans would prefer. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Dickerson is undergoing a minor surgery and is considered week-to-week. While this is far from the worst-case scenario, the Eagles still face a potential short-term void at left guard. Everyone in the city of Philadelphia will be hoping Green can step up, at least until Dickerson is ready to return.
