The Philadelphia Eagles are one team worth monitoring as the NFL trade deadline looms on Nov. 5. Inconsistent defensive performances have kept the Eagles from reaching their potential, leaving general manager Howie Roseman in a position to potentially add a defender or two in the coming weeks.

While numerous options will be available ahead of the trade deadline, one NFL analyst has linked the Eagles to a former All-Pro defender who has a history with one of the team's coaches.

Eagles Trade Proposal Sends Von Miller to Philadelphia

CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin has created a mock trade where the Eagles would land linebacker Von Miller from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a conditional 2025 third-round pick. The 35-year-old is currently suspended until Week 8 after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Bryce Huff's disappointing start to the 2024 campaign is one reason why Benjamin suggests that the Eagles should target Miller. The 26-year-old defensive end — who signed a three-year, $51.1 million contract in March — hasn't lived up to his pricetag thus far, recording just 0.5 sacks in five games after tallying 10 in 17 last season.

Although Miller is no longer in his prime, he was solid for the Bills until being suspended. He tallied five solo tackles and 3.0 sacks in four games, putting him on pace for 13 in a 17-game season — which would be one of the best outputs of his 13-year career.

A trade to Philadelphia would also reunite Miller with Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. After all, Fangio coached the Broncos during Miller's final few seasons in Denver, which also happened to be the last time that the latter performed at a Pro Bowl level.

If there's even a chance that the Eagles can land Miller to help improve their defense, GM Roseman must call the Bills as soon as possible. Not only could he have a positive on-field impact, but his experience stemming from two Super Bowl victories could rub off on Philadelphia's locker room.
