Despite constant crying from their rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles' signature play, the Tush Push, is here to stay. The NFL owners got together on Wednesday to vote on the proposed rule change that would have banned the play.

Following the meeting, NFL insider Ari Meirov reported that the proposed ban didn't receive enough votes.

Immediately after this was announced, the Eagles shared a social media post directed at the Green Bay Packers, who were leading the charge to get the play banned.

Eagles Waste No Time Trolling the Packers After the Tush Push Ban Failed

Philadelphia's post had the Eagles getting ready for the play against the Packers, with the caption, "Push On." The not-so-subtle message to Green Bay so quickly after the vote highlighted how the Eagles were champing at the bit to troll their NFC rivals.

This was certainly a surprise development, as all signs pointed to the incoming ban. The momentum seemed to be on the side of the ban, The Athletic's Dianna Russini even reporting earlier in the week that it was bound to happen.

We may never know what transpired in the meantime that caused the momentum to shift the other way. What we will know, however, is that this is a big win for the Eagles and an embarrassing loss for the Packers.

Philadelphia already beat the Packers twice last season, including in the playoffs. Trying to get a play you can't stop on the field banned after losing to a team twice was a bad look to start with. Then losing your efforts to get it banned is even more embarrassing.

It sounds like the teams in the NFL will have to come up with an on-field solution to their failure. Until then, "push on", indeed.
