Eagles Get Big Dallas Goedert Injury News Right After Ravens Win
By Joe Summers
The Philadelphia Eagles received a big piece of injury news on standout tight end Dallas Goedert right after the Sunday afternoon victory against the Ravens. Geodert was forced to leave the win with a knee ailment, though it sounds like the team believes it isn't serious.
Goedert has missed a handful of games over the last few seasons, though is still a reliable part of Philadelphia's passing attack. He has 38 catches for 441 yards and two TDs in nine games while the Eagles sit at 10-2 with a stranglehold on the NFC East.
Considering how important Goedert is to the offense and the lack of capable backups, it's critical that he's on the field for the postseason.
Eagles Get Dallas Goedert Injury Update After Week 13
According to Jeff McClane of the Inquirer, Goedert will undergo further testing on Monday. The team is just hoping for a sprain, which could keep him out in Week 14 against the Panthers.
Carolina is one of the league's worst teams, so missing Goedert for that game wouldn't be a big deal. The Eagles face the Steelers, Commanders, Cowboys, and Giants to close the year. It's fathomable that Philadelphia could steal the No. 1 seed from the Lions if they win out, which could give Goedert and his teammates an additional week of rest before the NFC Divisional Round.
At this point, the entire focus should be on winning a Super Bowl. Saquon Barkley has revitalized this offense, but opponents could load the box should any of Philly's pass-catchers miss time in the postseason. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, who didn't suit up against the Ravens, are more important overall, though there's no questioning Goedert's impact when he's on the field.
For now, Eagles fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief. It looks like injuries may be the only thing that could slow this team down, and it's great to hear that the team believes Goedert avoided anything significant.
