Eagles' Division Title Chances Boosted by Major Cowboys Injury News
By Joe Summers
The Eagles are rolling after holding on against the Jaguars 28-22 in Week 9. They've now won four straight and control their own destiny for the NFC East, though just received a big piece of injury news regardless.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury. Philadelphia plays in Dallas on Sunday, so the Eagles could officially end their rival's season to ensure there will be a new winner of the division.
Jayden Daniels and Washington are a half-game ahead but with two games against the Eagles left on the schedule, the Commanders are within reach. Since Philadelphia still has two games against Dallas, including in Week 10, the Eagles have a major opportunity to bully the NFC East over the next two months.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott to Miss Multiple Weeks With Injury
Despite technically being behind the Commanders, the Eagles are betting favorites with -145 odds to win the NFC East at FanDuel Sportsbook. Losing to Dallas next week would've obviously hurt those odds, but it appears that Cooper Rush will be under center instead of Prescott.
The Cowboys were going nowhere fast even before the injury. They're 5-2 in their last seven games against the Eagles though, so they're always a dangerous rival. Should Philadelphia take care of business, they'll be in position to take over the division lead hosting Washington the following week.
It's a massive two-week stretch for the Eagles, who will then play the Rams and Ravens before an easier matchup with the Panthers. Philadelphia needs every win it can get with the NFC's top overall seed still in grasp.
Due to Prescott's injury, the Eagles are seven-point favorites on Sunday at FanDuel. They caught a big break and now have to take advantage of it.
