The Philadelphia Eagles moved up the board in the first round and took USC receiver Makai Lemon. That move gives them another pass catcher to add to the offense, which could be needed soon, as the rumors surrounding A.J. Brown's future with the team have been a major talking point.

With that now in the rearview mirror, Day 2 is at the forefront. The Eagles currently have three picks on night two, No. 54 in the second round, along with No. 68 and No. 98 in the third round. General manager Howie Roseman will be busy, but the Eagles should circle Oregon guard Emmanuel Pregnon with the No. 54 pick.

Eagles Need to Target Oregon Guard Emmanuel Pregnon in Round 2

The Eagles have Landon Dickerson returning in 2026, but anything beyond that is up in the air. Dickerson considered retirement this offseason but decided to return. He dealt with several injuries in 2025, which included back, knee, and ankle issues. Dickerson and the Eagles then agreed to take a pay cut and remove a year from his contract. He's now under contract through 2027.

With serious questions about his future with the Eagles, potentially drafting Pregnon makes too much sense. He stands at 6'4" and weighs in at 314 pounds, with the ability to create a ton of space in the run game. In pass protection, Pregnon anchors very well, allowing him to hold his spot. The Colorado native also plays with a feisty mentality and plays through the whistle. It doesn't hurt that he ended his Ducks career with 40 straight starts.

Despite that strong anchor, he still needs some refinement as a pass protector. Pregnon would give the Eagles a high-floor player at a position with serious questions down the line, though. And even if he doesn't play this season, Pregnon would provide them with a high-end backup for 2026. Dickerson's consideration of retirement is a sign that his body isn't in the best condition.

The idea of getting Pregnon is a year ahead, but that shouldn't preclude the Eagles from strongly considering it. There were rumors that Pregnon would sneak into the first round, and even though that didn't happen, he's one of the best offensive linemen left on the board.

For a team that loves to run the ball, Pregnon would fill in perfectly in Philadelphia. They have shown that building the trenches is a priority for the Eagles. They can't afford to kick the can down the road any longer, making the Oregon product an easy choice. Philadelphia knocked it out of the park drafting Lemon, and they need to keep the pressure on offensively and add to the front five.
