The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense was handed a devastating blow after their dominating road win over the Los Angeles Rams last week. The Eagles lost veteran defensive end Brandon Graham to a torn triceps injury, effectively ending his 2024 season.

It’s a huge loss for the Eagles as the 36-year-old defensive lineman was having a good season under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Graham recorded 20 combined tackles, 12 QB pressures, seven QB hits, six tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in 11 games.

Graham was emotional after the Rams’ game, realizing that could have been the last game he played in an Eagles uniform.

According to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro, Fangio told reporters on Wednesday he thinks Graham has another year left in him and will tell him that.

The long-time defensive coordinator also said it will be a group effort to replace Graham and they’ll miss him. Eagles fans would love to see Graham return for one more season, especially if he can play like he did this season.

Many people were not pleased with the Eagles’ defensive line performance at the beginning of the season, but Graham stood out constantly among the young players. Graham has been a stalwart on the Eagles' defensive line for many years and has already cemented himself in the Eagles' Hall of Fame.

With Graham out for the rest of the 2024 campaign, the Eagles will depend on Nolan Smith Jr. and rookie Jalyx Hunt to fill in the void. Smith has looked like a completely different player in his second year. The former Georgia standout has seven quarterback pressures, six quarterback pressures, four tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks.
