One of the bigger storylines to come out of the Eagles’ Week 11 win over the Washington Commanders last week was the performance of veteran kicker Jake Elliott.
The 29-year-old Elliott struggled mightily when called upon to make a field goal. The former Pro Bowl kicker missed a 44-yard field goal wide left to open the game, shocking Eagles fans in attendance.
Then in the second quarter, Elliott missed a 51-yard field goal, which was also wide left, much to the dismay of Eagles fans. Thankfully, Elliott redeemed himself towards the end of the first half, making a 20-yard field goal, getting the Eagles on the board.
In the second half, Elliott made a 31-yard field goal to cap off a 10-play, 74-yard scoring drive, but he missed an extra point. It was a mixed bag of results from the usual reliable kicker.
On Tuesday, Eagles special teams coordinator Mike Clay asked about Elliott’s missed three field goals against the Commanders last week. According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Clay said, “We have supreme confidence in Jake.”
The special teams coordinator also said that all three of Elliott’s misses were the same, “over draws” and it's easy to fix.

Eagles fans hope it's that simple. The fanbase wasn’t happy with Elliott’s performance last week, which thankfully did not cost the team. The good news for Elliott is that he gets to wipe the slate clean as the Eagles go on the road to play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.
