The Philadelphia Eagles have won eight straight and took a commanding lead in the NFC East heading into the final five weeks of the season. They have an excellent chance of extending their winning streak when they host the 3-9 Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

On FanDuel Sportsbook, the Eagles are a whopping 12.5-point favorites over the NFC bottom feeders. Assuming that Philadelphia takes care of business, they will have a shot at clinching a postseason berth. A few results will have to go their way for that to happen. Eagles insider Zach Berman detailed the scenarios in which the Birds guarantee a playoff spot in Week 14.

Eagles News: Philadelphia May Clinch Playoff Berth in Week 14

In summary, for the Eagles to clinch a postseason berth, the frontrunners in the NFC wild-card race need to lose. The Falcons, Buccaneers, and the Cardinals are all 6-6. If two of those teams fail to win, the Eagles guarantee at least a wild-card spot in the conference, given that they don't lose to the Panthers.

The Falcons are playing the Vikings on the road and are a long shot to come away with the win. The Cardinals and the Seahawks are playing in a crucial division matchup on Sunday. Tampa Bay has a very winnable game at home against the Raiders. Considering that they will most likely win that game, the Eagles have to hope for the rest of the results to go their way.

Regardless of what happens in other games, the Eagles have to make sure they don't make any mistakes down the stretch. Not only do they need to clinch a playoff berth, but they also have to ensure a first-round bye to give themselves the best chance to make the Super Bowl. Beating the Panthers, therefore, is non-negotiable for Nick Sirianni & Co.
