The Philadelphia Eagles enter a much-needed bye in Week 9, giving them some time off to rest up ahead of their second-half push. They've won two straight games and have some momentum carrying into the bye, but they also got some good news regarding running back Saquon Barkley.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano released a piece discussing the latest buzz they've heard around the league and revealed some positive news regarding Barkley's injury.

"Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is trending positively coming off a minor groin injury. The feeling right now is that he should be in a good spot after the bye week," Fowler wrote.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley Trending in the Right Direction After Groin Injury

Barkley sat out the fourth quarter against the New York Giants after suffering a groin injury on a 28-yard run at the end of the fourth quarter. The star tailback revealed that if the game had been closer, he might have played to finish the contest out, but since the game was already over, he stayed on the sideline.

And that seemed to be the best call, as it didn't put him at risk of making the injury worse. And with the bye week taking place, it's the time to have the week off. It was very fitting that Barkley's best of the season came against his former team, the Giants.

He finished with a season-high 150 rushing yards, one touchdown, and a massive 10.7 yards per rush. That's the exact kind of production Eagle fans were used to, so it's a sigh of relief to see it isn't anything significant or long-term. Thus far into the season, Barkley has racked up 519 rushing yards, 159 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns.

Thankfully, the Eagles don't play again until Nov. 10 against the Green Bay Packers, giving Barkley time to be off his feet and allow his groin time to rest. In the meantime, another pleasant surprise was how Tank Bigsby looked last week.

On just nine carries, Bigsby recorded a whopping 104 rushing yards (11.6 yards per carry). That showed he has the potential to be a nice weapon in the backfield as well, but with this update, there's a good chance the Eagles will be able to have the duo of Barkley and Bigsby ready to roll in Week 10.

It was worrisome when Barkley was standing on the sideline, but it appears Eagles fans don't have anything to worry about unless the team says otherwise.
