The Philadelphia Eagles have dealt with their fair share of injuries along the offensive line throughout the 2025 campaign. This has forced the coaching staff on that side of the football to put a patchwork group together during the second half of the regular season, which has led to more opportunities for veteran offensive lineman Brett Toth.
The fourth-year veteran has already appeared in a career-high 13 games for the Eagles this season, with three of those appearances featuring Toth as a member of the starting lineup. However, his chance for extended playing time along the offensive line may be coming to an end as we enter the home stretch of the regular season.
Eagles Latest Injury Update Spells End of Brett Toth's Extended Run
While Toth has performed admirably as a Swiss Army Knife along the offensive line, his overall Pro Football Focus grade of 77.3 ranks as the seventh-best among eligible centers; he is a reserve for a reason. Toth was far more effective at run blocking (sixth-best in the NFL, per PFF) than he was at pass blocking (31st best in the NFL, per PFF). Now, he will likely be returning to that role now that Philadelphia is getting healthy up front at the right time.
The final inactive list will not come out until Sunday, but it appears as though the Eagles will have the services of Landon Dickerson and Fred Johnson when the Las Vegas Raiders come to town, as the duo was at practice on Friday. This is particularly notable for Dickerson, as the three-time Pro Bowl selection was only a limited participant on Wednesday, before sitting out Thursday's practice.
With Dickerson and Johnson, for that matter, presumably available to suit up and block for Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia's rushing attack, coupled with Cam Jurgens returning to the fold, there aren't going to be the opportunities available for Toth that have been there in recent weeks.
This is undoubtedly a positive development for the Eagles. You always want your most talented players on the field, especially during this stretch of the schedule, to best position yourself for the postseason. Given Philadelphia's 8-5 record on the year, and the fact that they're riding a three-game losing streak into Sunday's matchup against the Raiders, knowing that key pieces of the puzzle will be available has to be reassuring for the rest of the offense.
