Now that the dust has settled, Eagles fans and players can fully grasp what happened on Sunday night. Philadelphia dominated the Kansas City Chiefs en route to a 40-22 victory, notching their second Super Bowl title in team history.
This one felt more personal, since the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII. Kansas City was also chasing history to become the first team to secure a 3-peat.
There were a ton of storylines heading into this game and the Eagles answered the call. Not only did they win, but they also set a record. Per John Clark of NBC, Fox revealed that Super Bowl LIX was the most watched Super Bowl ever. The game drew a projected more than 126 million viewers.

Eagles Made History in Super Bowl 59
Before breaking this record, the most watched Super Bowl was when the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers battled in Super Bowl LVIII. That matchup had 123.4 million viewers.
It appeared that the majority of football fans around the nation were rooting for the Eagles. The Chiefs looked like they were bound to head on a historic run, like the New England Patriots did in the past.
When teams look like they are starting to take over a league, fans are itching to see someone take them down. That's exactly what happened on Sunday and the Eagles.
Before this Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes was 3-1 in the Super Bowl. That one loss came in Super Bowl LV, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Chiefs 30-9. There were doubts on whether anyone would be able to defeat this guy and Jalen Hurts delivered with flying colors.
In the victory, Hurts went 17-of-22 for 221 yards, 72 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns. Those numbers helped him land Super Bowl MVP and secure his first-ever Super Bowl title.
With the record-breaking viewership, the interest in this game was through the roof.
