Former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Jack Stoll has landed himself a new opportunity for the 2025 season in the first week of free agency.

On Thursday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Stoll is signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. The veteran pass catcher will be reunited with former Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who is the new head coach in New Orleans.

The 27-year-old Stoll spent parts of the 2024 season with the Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Stoll began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent in Philadelphia in 2021. Stoll solidified himself as the Eagles’ No. 2 tight end behind starter Dallas Goedert for three seasons.

Stoll didn’t do much as a pass catcher in his first three years with the Eagles, but was a solid blocker, which the Eagles needed out of their TE2.

The Eagles did not re-sign Stoll last offseason, who was an unrestricted free agent. Instead, he signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants. However, the veteran tight end didn’t make New York’s 53-man roster as they released him ahead of the roster deadline.

With Stoll a free agent, the Eagles immediately signed him to the practice squad in late August. Weeks later, Philadelphia released Stoll from the taxi squad on Sept. 11, but re-signed him a day later.

The Eagles promoted him twice to the active roster in the first month of the season before waiving him in November. Stoll appeared in seven games last season (two starts). He recorded two receptions for 10 yards in those contests.

The Dolphins picked Stoll up not too long after, where he played four games. With the Dolphins, the former Eagles tight end spent most of his time on special teams, playing 33 percent of snaps.

Stoll will likely not be a huge factor in the Saints' passing game this coming season, but he knows Moore’s offense, which could be beneficial during training camp and the preseason.
