When looking at potential contenders in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles are a required inclusion on any realistic list. Not only are the Eagles defending Super Bowl champions, but the roster has reason to believe it can continue to improve with a number of young pieces capable of taking steps forward.

However, this is a fact that division rival Dak Prescott appeared to forget in a preseason matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback is making his return after yet another injury-plagued season. For the Eagles, this isn't a major concern with the quarterback still not pushing Dallas into the NFC East picture.

If there is one team that the Eagles actually have respect for, it is the Washington Commanders. Jayden Daniels has taken the young team to another level and demanded respect. Philly fans are well aware that both games Jalen Hurts played against Washington ended with the Eagles on top, including the NFC Championship.

Yet, it seems Dak has a different ending in mind for the 2025 season.

Dak Prescott Leaves Eagles Out of NFC's Final Matchup

The video above shows Prescott walking to the center of the field to join Jerry Jones and Los Angeles Rams' owner Stan Kroenke. The meeting ends with Dak offering that the two sides would meet again in the "NFC Championship." If the Eagles needed a reason for extra motivation against the hated rival, this is a bit of free bullentin board material.

The assertion is hilarious on its face for anyone who has paid attention to recent Cowboys history. Someone should tell Dak that making it to the NFC Championship game to play the Rams requires not only winning back-to-back playoff games, but also making it past the Eagles. Two things that the Cowboys simply aren't capable of doing.

Prescott is going to continue to take a back seat to Jalen Hurts and to exciting young quarterback Jayden Daniels. The veteran isn't capable of pushing a middling roster deep into the postseason, and anyone paying attention knows this. It is a wild statement that won't be backed up from a player that is yet to make a deep playoff run.

While Dak simply talks about the possibilities, Hurts has actually already won two NFC Championships and taken down a dynasty. Philly fans should have zero fear of this team and continue to match up favorably.

For the Rams, it is the one team that came close to beating the Eagles in a dominating playoff run making the franchise one of the few teams worth Philly's respect. However, as expected, it isn't the veteran organization doing the talking but a rival who simply has zero chance of backing up his wild statement.
