Former Penn State star defender Abdul Carter was one of the best players in college football this season and is considered one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Carter is also a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

The former Nittany Lion standout is a Philadelphia native and attended La Salle College for high school. During the Eagles’ exciting playoff run, Carter has been seen on social media over the last few weeks rooting for his hometown team.

It’s clear Carter is an Eagles fan and is enjoying their playoff run, which has them playing in the Super Bowl. Eagles fans would love to see the former Penn State standout in midnight green in a perfect world.

However, Philly will have one of the last two picks in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, taking them out of the conversation for Carter. But the standout defender isn’t giving up on the idea as Carter jokingly liked a comment on Instagram about tanking the combine to become an Eagle.

The comment was posted under a picture posted by Carter that showed him in front of a car with an Eagles jersey on. The former Penn State star captioned the photo with, “BACK to the BOWL” and “we ain’t missing this time.”

Eagles fans should not expect Carter to tank the combine as he has dreams of becoming the No. 1 overall pick, which is not out of the realm of possibility. The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 pick and do not necessarily need a QB, opening the door for them to take the best player available.

If Carter doesn’t go No. 1, he’ll likely not fall outside the top 5, which would be too high for the Eagles to jump up. That said, Carter and the rest of Eagles fans should enjoy the ride for the next two weeks as the team tries to finish the job in the Super Bowl.
