Carson Wentz Wasn't Only Ex-Eagles QB to Have Rough Week 7

While the Philadelphia Eagles won on Sunday on the backs of their offensive turnaround in the second half, they got a ton of help from a friend in the process. Former Eagles QB Carson Wentz struggled under center for Minnesota, throwing two interceptions, including a pick-six, in the first half that helped Philly finish the half with a 14-6 lead. The 32-year-old signal-caller finished the game with 61.9% completion rate and a 64.9 passer rating. However, Wentz was not the only former Eagles QB who struggled on Sunday.

Ex-Eagle Kenny Pickett Was a Part of an All-Time Offensive Disaster in Las Vegas

Kenny Pickett had himself a disastrous season debut with the Las Vegas Raiders. After getting subbed in for Geno Smith in the fourth quarter of their 31-0 loss to the Chiefs, Pickett had a horrendous fumble in his first snap that ended with the Chiefs recovering the ball. He then finished the game with two passes and eight yards, and no first downs.

In the former Eagle's defense, Pickett was the least of Raiders' concerns on Sunday. They had an all-time embarrassing offensive performance, finishing the game only running 30 offensive plays and a total of 95 yards. The Raiders only had three first downs for the game and ran only two offensive plays in the opponent territory.

Even though the Week 7 loss is obviously not on Pickett, it's not a good sign for where the 27-year-old signal-caller's career is currently at. Geno Smith has been bad all season, throwing more interceptions than any other QB in the league and leading one of the worst offenses in the league. The fact that Pickett has not gotten more of a chance in that dumpster fire is not a great look.

What makes this fascinating is that three teams, including the Eagles, have traded draft capital to acquire Pickett in the last year and a half. The former Steelers starter arrived in Philadelphia to be Jalen Hurts' backup last year, with the Eagles giving up a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks to Pittsburgh (while also getting a fourth-round pick back). After winning Super Bowl LIX, Pickett was traded to the Browns for a fifth-round pick and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. In the crowded Browns' QB room, Pickett was the odd man out, getting traded to the Raiders for a fifth-round pick only five months after landing in Cleveland.

Now, he is a backup QB in one of the least desirable offensive situations in the league. Whether he will be able to turn things around any time soon remains to be seen.
